Attractive Qualities in a Date or Relationship
There’s so much material out there about dating. It can be so
overwhelming. It's virtually an information overload, as in the
case of a date that reveals more than you want to know. We’re
talking “TMI” of course… Too Much Information! There are
resources dedicated to almost every conceivable aspect of
dating…. Single parent dating, mature singles dating, adventure
seeking singles dating, Muslim singles, Christian singles,
Jewish singles, and more. You name the niche, and someone’s
going to claim that territory as their realm of expertise.
Well, here’s a secret! Dating is not that different from other forms
of interaction with people. It’s a good guess that the qualities that
appeal to the opposite sex in ordinary settings are the same
ones that would be appealing on a date. After all, dates are
supposed to be part of real life, not an episode of a one hour
reality show. Maybe this is one of the reasons that natural
settings such as the workplace or school can be so much more
revealing about a person than a dinner date or “drinks after work”
date. After all, women and men act more naturally and reveal
more about their personalities when they’re not on a four hour
program that involves an evening of dinner, movie and night cap.
There are many so-called experts out there peddling things like
“secrets of how to win her heart”, “how to get him to fall in love
with you”, “what women love in a man”, etc., etc. But maybe the
things that might be peddled as “the secrets to a good
relationship” could be staring us right in the face. What would a
woman love about a man on a date? What would make a man
attracted to a woman in a relationship? Well how about some of
the same qualities that people are attracted to in every day life.
These include:
Honesty: Honesty is a human trait which is appealing on a date
and appealing in everyday life. If your date shows up in a
Lamborghini and has the means to fly you to the Bahamas for a
weekend of beaching and yachting, it won’t mean too much if he
or she doesn’t come off as being honest and straightforward.
The means to afford such luxuries is a powerful attribute and it
would be disingenuine to dismiss it as superficial. But traits
such as honesty are more fundamental and have more appeal
in the big picture.
